Facilities Maintenance Worker
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Performs facility cleaning and maintenance, and assists supervisors with a broad spectrum of tasks as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to: Human Resources Director; may receive assignments from Projects Coordinators, Water Supply Manager, Assistant Water Supply Manager, Pumping Plant Supervisors, and Environmental Stewardship Manager.
- Directs: This is a non-supervisory position.
- Other: Has daily contact with other Authority personnel, outside vendors, delivery personnel, visitors, and has occasional contact with Authority customers.
EXAMPLES OF WORK -Essential Duties
- Maintain punctual, regular attendance and work the scheduled hours.
- Cleans Administrative offices buildings, restrooms, and other facilities as needed. Specifically, SWB Administrative Building, Neches 1st office and warehouse, and Neches 2nd warehouse.
- Clears debris from the Administrative offices building grounds and parking areas as needed.
- Prepares facilities for various meetings and events as needed.
- Assists Projects Coordinator – Pumping Plant, and other Managers and Supervisors as needed.
- Receives and makes deliveries and assists with loading and off-loading as needed.
- Acts as runner for the Administrative Department.
Other Important Duties
- Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of: custodial practices, grounds maintenance, light maintenance procedures, and dependable, excellent conduct when acting as delivery and runner representative for the Authority.
Skill/Ability to: demonstrate ability to provide written and oral communication as needed; understand numeric data; read, interpret and follow maps; complete necessary paperwork accurately, legibly, and promptly; maintain appropriate Texas Driver License (applicable to job responsibilities) and good driving record; tolerate various working conditions, which may include exposure to adverse weather conditions; and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other Authority employees, outside vendors, delivery personnel, and customers.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High school graduation, or its equivalent, plus at least two years of related work experience. or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED
Valid Texas Driver License
PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work frequently requires considerable pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds. Frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and exposure to a variety of weather conditions.
Pay Group: A3
Pay Range: $17.68/hour $26.52/hour
Closing Date: March 31, 2025 or until filled, whichever comes first
